Markus Tatzgern completed not only his diploma in telematics at Graz University of Technology with distinction, but also his doctorate in the research area of augmented reality. Since 2015, he has been Senior Lecturer and Head of Department for Game Development and Mixed Reality at the MultiMediaTechnology study degree at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences. Before that, Markus conducted research for Handheld Augmented Reality (AR), one of the world’s leading research laboratories for AR solutions at the Christian Doppler Laboratory.
His research focuses on the development of advanced visualization and interaction techniques for virtual reality and augmented reality with the aim to transfer the technology into practical applications. He supports us in the research on entrepreneurial resiliance and cooperation in the use of digital marketing, digitalization at SMEs.
Markus’ work has been published in high level journals (e.g. IEEE ISMAR, IEEE VR, IEEE TVCG, Computers & Graphics) and has resulted in a number of patents in the field of AR visualization. He also serves as a member of program committees and reviewers for scientific conferences, specialist magazines and funding agencies.
