Günter Berger (Head of the Business & Management Department of the Forest Products Technology and Timber Constructions study program.

Born and living in Oberalm, exactly between the two locations of the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, I teach business administration, SME and IMT courses in both facilities. From generating ideas to market launches, from business models to marketing concept – this holistic approach makes every project extremely exciting for me as a trained technician and economist. Since I am a trained management consultant, for me it is very important to focus on managerially relevant topics.

As a primeval rock at the University of Applied Sciences, I have been in charge of the Economics & Wood Management department since 1999 on our campus in Kuchl. I am particularly interested in: multi-sensual marketing & wood, market research for wood machines, optimized market launch for wood products in the USA, market launch of innovative furniture, integrated product and brand development process for a new wood-based material together with the wood construction and wood industry departments, establishment of a used furniture market as a customer loyalty tool for branded furniture, willingness to pay for wooden bicycles, wicker workshops as a business model for emergency travelers, and many more.

At the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences I like the wonderful collaboration with open-minded students who are enthusiastic and passionate about new and sustainable ideas. Furthermore, I appreciate the opportunities for cooperation with colleagues from a wide variety of courses and departments, with whom you can think outside the box.
