Dominik Walcher studied architecture and economics in Stuttgart, Munich and Berkeley (California). He received his doctorate from the Technical University of Munich in the field of innovation management. In 2006, Dominik accepted the professorship for marketing and innovation management at the Design and Product Management study program at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences.
Since March 2010, he has been a research associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston. Dominik teaches at various universities in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy. His primary research and teaching focus lies in ecological sustainability in the area of innovation management and consumer behavior as well as the topic of customization.
Furthermore, Dominik was the co-founder of a startup for eco-intelligent products. Findings from his research and his practical work have been published and are incorporated into teaching and advice.
