The National Retail Research Knowledge Exchange Center (NRRKEC) retail symposium takes place at Nottingham Trent University every year. It was that time again in July 2017, with a selection of academics and practitioners from the UK trade dedicated to “Engaging the aging in the retail shopping experience.” Also invited was Robert Zniva of the department of marketing and relationship management, who spoke as a key note speaker on his research work on older consumers in the retail food sector. Further lectures were devoted to the needs of older people in fashion, as well as the trend of “positive aging.” A company who deletes deceased people’s information from customer databases also held a very interesting lecture. The event was rounded off with discussions with colleagues from the universities of Oxford, Nottingham and Stirling. The event was part of the English Retail Week.
